I just noted that you have the original 1.0 release of this script in your repository, but there is a fixed/modified version by h0tw1r3 from 2023 too, which might be useful. I had it running on my install for quite a while now. Unfortunately, the py3 is all I still have. It's probably a copy/paste from the nzbget-forum.

With v23 we introduced the Extension Manager and we aim to maintain many popular extensions, extendedunrar is one of the first one we picked up. We use old nzbget.net forum as source of truth.

The problem with the v2 you posted is that our version is also modified. It is useful, but there is no sense adopting it at the moment.

I'm very curious how you found it? I don't see it on nzbget forum, it's not obviously mentioned too. Can you please link the source? It would be helpful to research the state of other extensions too.
