can't connect thunderbird

I have configured thunderbird as follows:

And yet I get this error message on thunderbird: ‘thunderbird could not find your mail account settings’.
I don't understand

This works:

For 465 with SSL/TLS setting, you would still have "Normal Password" for the authentication method setting.

You do not have ports published from the container itself? Are you sure it is reachable from another machine, or even the local one from your domain? Your openssl command test only did so with 0.0.0.0 (all network interfaces), not the IP that the server would connect to.

in fact, I made the mistake of preferring ‘virtual port’ (for my nginx acme container) to mapping ports directly to the DMS container
