Multi-module (go.work) build error, how to configure correctly

An error occurred when executing the command goreleaser release --snapshot --clean

The error log is pre hook failed: shell: 'go mod tidy': exit status 1: go: go.mod file not found in current directory or any parent directory; see 'go help modules'

I think you'll need to set builds.*.dir instead of main

Thank you for your answer. But after trying to modify it, it still has the same error as before.

i think your actual config file has before hook calling go mod tidy?

because goreleaser itself never calls it...

I tested this on charmbraceled/x, both of these work:

Run go mod tidy before building， I think it's a good idea to run this command before building. But this is not working at the moment, any other suggestions?

its a safeguard, but you should run it outside too, otherwise it might cause diffs, which will break the release.

that said, if you use goreleaser pro you can set the dir of a hook: https://goreleaser.com/customization/hooks/#pro

other than that, maybe put the .goreleaser.yml in the folder of the module, and then cd ./module && goreleaser release
