Information needed YouTube embeds on third party cookies. #343
Comments
I noticed on previous post from other people somebody saying that "youtube is aware of the changes"... does it mean I don't need to do anything with the embeds? YouTube would take care of it? Would this be the same for GoogleMaps?.... |
Hello @Elindo586 , Can you add a bit more details on specific error you are getting and the reasons you are using youtube-nocookie.com domain instead of youtube.com? Are you embedding both YT Embeds and YT Maps on your site? If you are using youtube-nocookie.com it should be NOOP regardless 3PCD. For Maps I'm not sure if such domain is present. Can you please clarify. |
^^ This is a 3rd party cookie error from YouTube. I was thinking using the nocookie domain from YouTube was going to fix the error, but it didn't. It is really messing up the lighthouse testing. If I tell my browser not to get any cookies, then the errors go away. For the map this is the error: |
Thanks for quick inputs. Hm, the first error the cookie seems to be coming from play.google.com. The easiest way to clean the error would be removing this cookie via Chrome Inspector or any other ways. If cookie keep getting reset from a play server side, not sure if Chrome has a way to ignore particular cookie or not allow it to be set in a cookie jar. As far as Maps, I'm less aware but those seems like cookies that are used by Maps SDK embeds may loose Google sign-in status in this case. |
Given Chrome change the direction for 3PCD that it is a user choice: https://privacysandbox.com/news/privacy-sandbox-update/ I suspect this not an issue any more. Feel free to re-open if needed. |
I am using the nocookie source link to embed YouTube videos in my site, but it still gives me cookie errors.
What can be a simple fix for the cookie error from the YouTube videos?
Also... I do have iframe from Google Maps... <-- for this one I will be moving to use an API..
