Hi, I was thinking if it would be possible to use the STM32F407VET6 chip instead of the other. The difference should only be 512kb versus 1mb of flash. If so, do you need to recompile the firmware? Thanks in advance.

That should work. I don't think you'd need to recompile, but I'm not 100% on that.
