I just wanted to point out that the solar feature seems quite broken. Maybe something in the code is out of date with how the latest macOS versions handle this?
I tried this tool and it works perfectly. In fact, I didn't even have to use the whole trick where you pick a system dynamic wallpaper first, then do "Services > Set Wallpaper" with your custom HEIC. With "wallpapper," the HEIC file works and I can just choose it normally in the Mac's Wallpaper settings.
Since that tool is open source, hopefully the code can help! If you want a demo of what's not working with Equinox, I can make a short video showing it. Basically, the solar HEIC shows the wrong image based on what time of day it is where I am, and when I choose light vs dark instead of dynamic, those are wrong too.
