Curation & deployment workflow overview

  • ROR uses a JSON file-based workflow to add new records and update existing records.
  • There is no ROR database - during each data release new/updated files are indexed into Elasticsearch and a new data dump JSON file is published. The data dump is considered the "source of truth".
  • ROR data is updated approximately every 2 weeks via a processed controlled by the curation manager.
  • Curation manager does all file creation and preparation; tech team is not typically involved unless issues arise.
