I couldn't get the tiles animation right with provided values. Is there a way, or are they intentionally a bit off?

Yes, I noticed that I had to tweak the values a bit to get the animation looking right also. Slightly off values was unintentional 🙃

The example animation showed modal "Signing in" toast – how could that be done?

The "Signing in" toast in the example is just an alert with no title or buttons (alert actions). It is possible to make a custom alert with loading indicators etc. but it is non-trivial 😬
