There is a concept which is called "Child theme" in WordPress. It is a cool and effective way to make changes to a great-looking theme and make it a bit more of "your own".
Is there a way of doing it with Astro or Astro Paper in general? - I'm sure that will help with upgradability and maintenance in the future for everyone using it, not only people changing the design/functionality.
