Why did you join sktime's mentorship program?
I have been dabbling with the open source development for the past 3-4 months. After having experienced open-source, firsthand, I feel that mentorship is in this field is quite necessary to ensure that you are picking the right issues to deal with and to efficiently use your time in solving impactful issues rather than aimlessly wandering the vast field of open source repos. After having come across sktime's mentoring program, I felt that it would be the perfect fit for my aspirations as an open source contributor and allow me to progress in this field by providing meaningful contributions in a time-efficient manner.
What topics are you working on?

My primary area of focus in the mentoring phase involves Time Series Analysis with Deep Learning and Foundational Models.

Currently working on:
Interfacing TiDEModel in sktime from darts library.
sktime/sktime#7621
What are your learning goals?
My learning goals in the phase of this mentorship include the following:

• Become well-versed with best-practices coding and code maintenance.
• Understand Time Series ML in-depth and be able to implement complex models and newer features with ease.
• Improve documentation skills.

What's next for you after the mentorship program?
After the mentorship program, I aim to become a more active contributor, and participate in more programs with sktime in the future.
