GMod won't start on MacOS Sequoia #140
Comments
Have you reviewed the section of the FAQ on macOS? |
I tried those, it still doesn't open. It gives me this message:
|
What launch options, if any, do you have set? |
I tried with just -autoconfig, then with just -noaddons and -noworkshop, then with just -noborder and -windowed. I also tried with no launch options as well. |
And all of those have the same OpenGL error? |
I'm on MacOS Monterey on an Intel i9 MacBook Pro and I get the exact same issue. No issue on my M4 Pro, strangely enough though (which IS on Sequioad or whatever that tree OS is - from cats to trees - not the best transformation) |
I fixed it! - Uninstall Garry's Mod, reinstall it, then reapply the patch thing, and it should do some funky crap with the window as usual, but this time it'll work. Worked for my machine, at least. Maybe it's to do with an old version of the patch for me, because it used to be quite a.. manual.. process.. so I probably did some fudging, and it just now broke when I applied the new patch CEF patch thing which is a script now which is nice. That would explain why simply reinstalling the game fixed it for me. |
Thanks for leaving a reply!! I managed to fix it a few days after my last comment on here using an LUA fix. I can send the link to that fix if you'd like. |
@TsukkomiCoder what "Lua fix" did you use to fix it? |
I tried opening GMod through the CEF Codec fix on MacOS Sequoia, but it crashes right before reaching the main menu. I tried using some launch options but nothing works with getting GMod to actually work.
