intermittent hard app crash

unclear what's going on here, still investigating.

Initial (very rough hunch): machine ran out of resources (RAM?) for a very large query.

mmh, there seems to be no record of the app actually being down.
It's pretty tight with RAM and CPU as expected, but no issues are reported.

I think what simply happened here is (see above) is that someone posted a pretty expensive list of DOIs, and that blocked the shiny session.
So I think this just raises #42 to the status of a bug, so to speak.
