Yesterday a handful of OSPO euthenics gathered in the offices of HH Partners in downtown Helsinki to participate in the first ever OSPO Local Meetup in Helsinki. The nine participants had representation from Swedish and Finnish telecom and cloud gigacorporations, state owned lottery and broadcasting companies and law firms. For exciting presentations were held in the following order:
(Director Open Source Policy): Jimmy Ahlberg, Director Open Source Policy at Ericsson, discussed the drivers behind why Ericsson established an OSPO, why its organized the way it is, and how they view its evolution. The talk highlighted arguments for why an OSPO is needed and its tangible benefits to organizations large and small.
All the presentations were interrupted with questions and lively discussion as it should happen in a Meetup.
After the presentation we had a little brainstorming about the topics we would like to discuss in the future. The result is recorded here.
Slides of the presentations are stored in here.
For reference the Meetup Event page and the LF Community event page links.
Thanks to the speakers for sharing their stories, HH Partners for sponsoring the event, the participants for the lively discussion and @anajsana for the mascot design and the promotion.
After all we forgot to make a photo ¯_ツ_/¯
