I'm using PHP 8 without issues (my actual version is 8.0.8) but issue #983 it's quite annoying, right now I opened a PR #2139 to mitigate this issue, but @tymondesigns seems been quite busy and away and I guess him the only one can accept and merge the current opened PRs.
