Slick Slider supports WP Gallery Custom Links to manage custom links for individual slides. However, this plugin has been removed from the WordPress.org repository, see https://wordpress.org/support/topic/plug-in-to-be-retired/. The "official" successor is Gallery Custom Links.

We should temporarily support both plugins, but issue a warning if the old plugin is used. In the medium term, support for it should be completely removed.
