no sound at 88.2 kHz

Apple Music "Jazz at the Pawnshop" 24bit - 88.2kHz alac

Once LosslessSwitcher changes the format, the audio cuts out, but Apple Music continues playing the track. However, if I change tracks to a different format, it works fine. When I quit LosslessSwitcher and manually change the format in Audio MIDI Setup, 88.2kHz works as expected. This seems to rule out a hardware issue.
