instances are created and file system perms are correct, however, the init script has the tcserver user hard-coded as:

TC_RUNTIME_USER="tcserver"

this requires manual intervention, editing the init script to use the correct user.

Thanks for reporting this. This project is currently in development and I'll try to get this issue fixed before release.
