Discussion topic: rdf:ReificationProperty

Issue for discussing the text on this wiki page: rdf-star-wg/issues/127

Enrico's "alternative-baseline" defines rdf:ReificationProperty -- https://github.com/w3c/rdf-star-wg/wiki/RDF-star-%22alternative-baseline%22#metamodelling-entailment-patterns-and-axiomatic-triples.

Notes:

  1. We could have "best practice" text to show how to use rdf:reifies providing best practice to the user.

  2. There seem to be only two general approaches to rdf:reifies.

    1. We allow for other properties and use the metamodel proposal defining rdf:ReificationProperty.
    2. rdf:reifies must be used when the object is a triple term. rdf:reifies is a distinguished in some way. One way is to have a fixed set of properties in class rdf:ReificationProperty.
  3. RDF Concepts, section "Triples" currently has a text note:

RDF Concepts
Every triple with a triple term as its object SHOULD use http://www.w3.org/1999/02/22-rdf-syntax-ns#reifies (rdf:reifies) as its predicate. Every triple whose object is not a triple term SHOULD NOT use http://www.w3.org/1999/02/22-rdf-syntax-ns#reifies (rdf:reifies) as its predicate.
