Doing some debugging...have a case where a specific document in the cloud crashes Brive on a specific user...made me think of this option as a possibility.

Indeed; however, what would you do with errors then? just silently ignore them? And also, would be very interested in knowing how/why it crashes. Mind sharing a backtrace?

Yes, it turned out to be the suspended user scenario that crashed Brive....

If there were an error log perhaps, then I could in theory deal with the errors later. That way as many files as possible are backed up in one pass.
