Describe the bug

Example track: https://tidal.com/browse/track/80950721?u

Downloading songs whether HiFi or Master quality [when successful] appear to yield tracks with excessive loudness and audio clipping. Screenshot attached below, but this persists for all songs downloaded so far.

Is there a way to mitigate the loudness at which the song is downloaded to avoid audio clipping? TY!

This is not a problem from Tidal-dl but a producer's problem. Neither TIDAL nor Tidal-dl touches the audio data at max quality: TIDAL just uploads what they recieve from producers and Tidal-dl just gets what TIDAL have.
The excessive loudness is because loudness war exists, and producers want it...

In fact it is quite common nowadays to master mixes, especially for Tidal, extremely loudly with plenty of clipping to give it the senes of being even louder than it is.
