Since about a month, sometimes this program doesn't work. I have to launch it a few times to invert the colours. I'm sorry my bug report isn't very precise, do you know what info I could give you?

Hi, the following information would be useful:

  • distribution, version, architecture
  • graphics hardware you have have in the system
  • graphics driver you are using
  • if you run xrandr-invert-colors with the -d (debug) argument, does it show any unexpected message?

Thanks for the information. Because there is no error message (so the X server has responded success to xrandr-invert-colors), I'm tempted to say that there is some regression in either the X server, or X drivers.
I don't know how this works in Archlinux, but for further debugging my only idea is to try to downgrade some X related packages and see if the downgrade fixes this issue. Then contacting upstream.
I've found a list of X-related packages and their version/update information here:
https://www.archlinux.org/groups/x86_64/xorg/

@Yamakaky from the referenced issue, #12, it looks possible that some other color calibration tool might be interfering with xrandr-invert-color . If this issue still persists for you, I recommend checking that RedShift or something similar is not running in the background

For some reason, I don't have the problem anymore... Surely a bug fixed upstream
