Data release process

James McLaughlin edited this page Feb 15, 2022 · 3 revisions

Twice a week, Sunday evening and Wednesday evening, a data release is attempted. We say a data release is "attempted" because if a data release is in progress, a new data release will not be started. An OLS data release can easily run for 72 hours or even longer.

The steps for a data release is more or less the following:

  1. All ontologies that are configured on OLS are downloaded.
  2. A check is done to determine whether any of the downloaded ontologies are different from what has previously been indexed.
  3. Only ontologies that have been updated are reindexed.
