Terms used throughout development

  • item - A single content unit (article, post, blog, tweet, or something like that) retrieved from an external source. Mapped to WordPress post type pf_feed_item.
  • source - The site or location from which the item was retrieved.
  • readable - To make an item readable is to retrieve as much of the original text as possible from the actual page, as opposed to partial text from a feed.
  • feed - A list of items that PressForward can consume. Mapped to WordPress post type pf_feed
  • nomination - Either an item promoted for greater attention by users or the custom post type that contains those promoted items. Mapped to WordPress post type nomination.
