Troubleshooting VTechWorks

These issues occur occasionally. Here are some suggestions for dealing with them.

Handles not resolving

More likely an issue with our server so submit a TeamDynamix request.
If it were an issue with CNRI, then notify them.

F5 Appliance cache

This can cause problems, for instance the "expand" buttons which use javascript not working on the communities list if the site has been down recently. The cached page will be served until it expires.

Item seems to be not indexed

Ask for reindexing (-f forced?) or make the item private, then make it public again.

Log files

most logs: /dspace/log/
Apache web logs: /var/log/tomcat8 (see ansible/roles/deploy/tasks/tomcat_setup.yml)
