Elfeed
Welcome to the Elfeed page
Elfeed is configured to use an ORG file, by default this org file is configured
to be found under ./Google Drive/org/elfeed.org
.
You can treat that just as you would any normal org file. Your RSS Links will
inherit the parent headings tags. The master heading will need the tag :elfeed
otherwise it's ignored.
Your heading levels can go as far deep as you like.
You can launch elfeed by pressing SPC o e
and this will bring up your main
elfeed buffer. It may look a bit empty the first time you launch it, to update
it from your org file simply press SPC o u
to initiate the update. You should
see in the top left corner jobs running and your feeds will slowly trickle in.
Navigating may seem a little daunting at first, but there are two ways you can navigate and start opening articles.
The first method: You can simply go down the list and open the links to your
articles. To open articles just press g o
on the keyboard to open with your
default browser.
The second method: You can open its feed into a readers view by selecting the
article, and then pressing ENTER
. From this screen you can scroll back [ [
or forwarding ] ]
and press g o
to open an article in your default browser.
Tags in elfeed can be seen in the far right, in grey font. Tags are inherited by
your org headers and you can add tags to your search. First go back to the main
elfeed screen with the list of your articles. Then press s
to begin filters.
For tags you'll need to add a +
before the name such as +devops
. For regular
keyword searches just type in the name. To filter the date range simply use
words like 6-days-ago
/ 3-months-ago
or you can remove the date filter
entirely.
From the list view, to mark an item unread press U
or to mark it read press u
. To add additional
tags to an article press +
and type in the tag name you would like to add.
