@Demmenie well i already did that through this PR without creating pollution since the maintainer of this repo is not active.

So are you now wanting to become the new mantainer?

Yeah, but the PRs never get merged and published to pypi because the maintainer hasn't been active in 2 years.

I don't particularly want the responsibility but I feel like I'll probably be at least a little more active on this. I use videohash in one of my projects and it's becoming a bit of an issue that it never gets updated so I guess that's what I'm doing.

I think having a package with a slightly different name in pypi is a bit confusing and also does not help with requirements.

That's understandable, I named it that way mostly because I thought it was funny.
