I enabled connected media players to automatically play spoken weather alerts utilizing currently unused spoken_title and spoken_message attributes. There are also "quiet hours" conditions that can easily be changed or disabled.
This is disabled by default, as a user must specify their speakers before this will work. I use three of IKEA's wifi Symfonisk speakers. When enabled, a message will be spoken aloud automatically as soon as an alert is issued. It's short and to the point; I tried to model it after official NOAA alerts. It will say something like this:
"The National Weather Service has issued a Weather Watch for <your_area>.
Flood Watch issued June 11 at 6:43PM PDT until June 15 at 11:00AM PDT. Flood watch in effect from late tonight to late wednesday morning."
No other areas of this amazing automation have been touched. Enjoy!
