Research project for Salvador ambiental monitoring
This project aimed to do some data analysis to monitor Salvador's microambiental variables, evaluate physical models compare those models with measure data from the Micrometeorology and Modeling Laboratory (LabMiM) at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA).
- At first, we could get some information about radiation variables (direct, diffuse, global) in Salvador Metropolitan Region for the past years, on different seasons and hours of the day, and different months through the year.
- We also developed a new system to visualize the Fly Eye set of light sensors. With Python SciPy tools for matrix interpolation, like interp2d, and data visualization tools in polar coordinates, like Maptlotlib, it was possible to see the different directions of sun radiation through the year in an interactively way. With that, for example, we can measure better postions for solar panels, increasing energy production, or estimate spots with high incidence of light for engineering/building projects.
