Usage of packages

Download the packages and place them in the extra folder on the flash drive. If you are doing this from a system currently running this is at /boot/extra.

To install the package run installpkg package_file

All packages built using scripts from SlackBuilds.org or pulled from official repos unless otherwise specified.

Usage in un-get (advanced users!)

If not already please install the un-get plugin from https://github.com/ich777/un-get
Then modify /boot/config/plugins/un-get/sources.list and add the following line. The line is formatted as URL then LABEL so the space is meant to be there.

To install a package using un-get run un-get install package
Run just un-get to get a list of possible options for the program.

audit	sysvinit-functions		3.0.7	The Linux Auditing System is a kernel subsystem the allows the kernel to record events of interest to intrusion detection systems, such as file access attempts, specific system calls, or custom events generated by trusted system binaries like login or sshd. The audit package provides the tools to configure the audit system, and to collect and process its output. To collect audit events, your kernel must have the audit system enabled, which is present in the stock Slackware kernels. The audit package has no other dependencies. However, certain audit events of interest, such as failed login attempts from /bin/login, password changes, etcetera are generated by their respective binaries using libaudit. If your site policy requires auditing those events, some reconfiguration and/or patching may be required.
autossh			1.4g	autossh - Automatically restart SSH sessions and tunnels autossh is a program to start a copy of ssh and monitor it, restarting it as necessary should it die or stop passing traffic.
axel			2.17.11	Axel accelerates the HTTP/FTP downloading process by using multiple connections for one file. It can use multiple mirrors for a download. Axel has no dependencies and is lightweight, so it might be useful as a wget clone on byte-critical systems. Axel is the perfect utility for those connections to wherever you are downloading from that may have a limit on ftp stream speeds, http sessions that burst and slow down, or servers with a slow connection.
borgbackup	msgpack-python, python3-pkgconfig, python-packaging, python-setuptools, python3	llfuse	1.4.0	borgbackup (deduplicating backup program) BorgBackup (short: Borg) is a deduplicating backup program. Optionally, it supports compression and authenticated encryption. The main goal of Borg is to provide an efficient and secure way to backup data. The data deduplication technique used makes Borg suitable for daily backups since only changes are stored. The authenticated encryption technique makes it suitable for backups to not fully trusted targets. Borg is a fork of Attic and is maintained by "The Borg collective". Optional dependencies: - llfuse for mounting the archives. Pulled latest from upstream and updated SlackBuild.
bc			1.08.1	bc (An arbitrary precision calculator language) bc is an arbitrary precision numeric processing language. Syntax is similar to C, but differs in many substantial areas. It supports interactive execution of statements. bc is a utility included in the POSIX P1003.2/D11 draft standard. The GNU version of bc was written by Philip A. Nelson.
bluez			5.79	bluez (Bluetooth libraries and utilities) Bluez is the Bluetooth stack for Linux, allowing Bluetooth adaptors and devices to be used with Linux. This package contains the Bluez libraries, utilities, and other support files. http://www.bluez.org
btop			1.4.0	Resource monitor that shows usage and stats for processor, memory, disks, network and processes. C++ version and continuation of bashtop and bpytop.
bwm-ng			0.6.3	Bandwidth Monitor NG is a small and simple console-based live network and disk io bandwidth monitor for Linux, BSD, Solaris, Mac OS X and others.
cksfv			1.3.14	Some files that you download will come with a .sfv file. This is used to verify that the files that you received are the same as the originals. cksfv (Check SFV) is a program that can use the .sfv file to verify the downloaded files. Also, it can be used to create new .sfv files. cksfv is a command line tool that uses crc32 checksum to verify file integrity. .sfv is simple file verification.
etherwake			1.0.9	You can wake up WOL compliant Computers which have been powered down to sleep mode or start WOL compliant Computers with a BIOS feature. WOL is an abbreviation for Wake-on-LAN. It is a standard that allows you to turn on a computer from another location over a network connection. etherwake also supports WOL passwords. exiftool			13.00	ExifTool is a platform-independent Perl library (Image::ExifTool) plus a command-line application (exiftool) for reading, writing, and editing meta information in image, audio, and video files. ExifTool supports many different types of metadata including EXIF, GPS, IPTC, XMP, JFIF, GeoTIFF, ICC Profile, Photoshop IRB, FlashPix, AFCP, ID3, and Lyrics3, as well as the maker notes of many digital cameras.
fastfetch			2.34.0	fastfetch (Like neofetch, but faster) Fastfetch is a neofetch-like tool for fetching system information and displaying them in a pretty way. It is written mainly in C, with performance and customizability in mind.
fdupes			1.6.1	FDUPES is a program for identifying or deleting duplicate files residing within specified directories.
fio			3.38	fio is a tool that will spawn a number of threads or processes doing a particular type of io action as specified by the user. fio takes a number of global parameters, each inherited by the thread unless otherwise parameters given to them overriding that setting is given. The typical use of fio is to write a job file matching the io load one wants to simulate.
fish			3.7.1	fish (Friendly Interactive Shell) fish is a user friendly command line shell for UNIX-like systems. fish includes case insensitive completions, a multiline editing system, a new and simplified key binding system, and a large number of command specific completions.
fzf			0.57.0	fzf - A command-line fuzzy finder written in Go
iotop			0.6	iotop is a Python program with a top-like UI used to show of behalf of which process is the I/O going on.
iotop-c			1.26	iotop identifies processes that use high amount of input/output requests on your machine. It is similar to the well known top utility, but instead of showing you what consumes CPU the most, it lists processes by their IO usage. Inspired by iotop Python script from Guillaume Chazarain, rewritten in C by Vyacheslav Trushkin and improved by Boian Bonev so it runs without Python at all. Note that this conflicts with iotop (install one of the two).
ipmitool			1.8.19	IPMItool is a utility for managing and configuring devices that support the Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) version 1.5 and version 2.0 specifications. It features the ability to read the sensor data repository (SDR) and print sensor values, display the contents of the System Event Log (SEL), print Field Replaceable Unit (FRU) inventory information, read and set LAN configuration parameters, and perform remote chassis power control.
jdupes	libjodycode		1.28.0	jdupes is a program for identifying and taking actions upon duplicate files. This fork of fdupes known as 'jdupes' is heavily modified from and improved over the original. jdupes IS NOT a drop-in compatible replacement for fdupes! Option availability and meanings differ between the two programs.
lftp			4.9.3	lftp (command line file transfer program) lftp is a program that allows sophisticated ftp and http connections to other hosts. lftp can handle many file access methods including ftp, ftps, http, https, hftp, fish and file. Every operation in lftp is reliable, that is any non-fatal error is ignored and the operation is retried. lftp has shell-like command syntax. lftp has a built in mirror feature which can download or upload a whole directory tree. http://lftp.yar.ru
libffi			3.4.6	libffi (A Portable Foreign Function Interface Library) FFI stands for Foreign Function Interface. A foreign function interface is the popular name for the interface that allows code written in one language to call code written in another language. libjodycode			3.1.1	libjodycode is a software code library containing code shared among several of the programs written by Jody Bruchon such as imagepile, jdupes, winregfs, and zeromerge.
libmediainfo	libzen		24.12	Library for mediainfo.
libsodium			1.0.20	libsodium (Sodium crypto library) Sodium is a library for encryption, decryption, signatures, password hashing and more. It is a portable, cross-compilable, installable, packageable fork of NaCl, with a compatible API, and an extended API to improve usability even further. Its goal is to provide all of the core operations needed to build higher-level cryptographic tools. https://libsodium.org
libzen			0.4.41	This is a mandatory library for libmediainfo.
llfuse			1.5.1	LLFUSE is a set of Python bindings for the low level FUSE API. It requires at least FUSE 2.8.0 and supports both Python 2.x and 3.x. Pulled latest from upstream and updated SlackBuild.
mediainfo	libmediainfo		24.12	MediaInfo supplies technical and tag information about a video or audio file.
mktorrent			1.1_de7d011	mktorrent is a command line utility to create BitTorrent metainfo files used by trackers and torrent clients. It can create metainfo files for single files or complete directories in a fast way. It supports multiple trackers.
msgpack-python			1.1.0	It's like JSON, but fast and small. MessagePack is an efficient binary serialization format. It lets you exchange data among multiple languages like JSON. But it's faster and smaller. Small integers are encoded into a single byte, and typical short strings require only one extra byte in addition to the strings themselves. Copy pulled from Conraid repo
ncdu			1.17	NCurses Disk Usage As the name already suggests, ncdu is an NCurses version of the famous old 'du' unix command. It provides a fast and easy interface to your harddrive. Where is your disk space going? Why is your home directory that large? ncdu can answer those questions for you in just a matter of seconds!
netcat			0.7.1	GNU Netcat is a featured networking utility which reads and writes data across network connections, using the TCP/IP protocol. It is designed to be a reliable "back-end" tool that can be used directly or easily driven by other programs and scripts. At the same time, it is a feature-rich network debugging and exploration tool, since it can create almost any kind of connection you would need and has several interesting built-in capabilities.
nload			0.7.4	nload is a console application which monitors network traffic and bandwidth usage in real time. It visualizes the in and outgoing traffic using two graphs and provides additional info like total amount of transfered data an min/max network usage.
nodeenv			1.6.0	Node.js virtual environment =========================== nodeenv (node.js virtual environment) is a tool to create isolated node.js environments. It creates an environment that has its own installation directories, that doesn't share libraries with other node.js virtual environments. Also the new environment can be integrated with the environment which was built by virtualenv_ (python).
nodejs			22.13.0	Node.js is a JavaScript runtime built on Chrome's V8 JavaScript engine. Node.js uses an event-driven, non-blocking I/O model that makes it lightweight and efficient. Node.js' package ecosystem, npm, is the largest ecosystem of open source libraries in the world. NOTE: This version uses an internal OpenSSL version instead of the one provided in Slackware package.
p7zip			17.04	7-Zip is a well-known file compression utility for windows. p7zip is a ported version for linux with nearly the same capabilities.
par2cmdline			0.8.1	par2cmdline (Commandline implementation of PARv2.0 specification) par2cmdline is a GPL-licensed commandline tool for creating and using PAR2 parity sets to detect damage in files and repair them if necessary. The program uses Reed Solomon Coding to perform its error correction. A useful program for checking and ensuring the integrity of binaries retrieved from usenet for instance.
par2cmdline-turbo			1.1.1	par2cmdline-turbo is a simple fork of par2cmdline which replaces core computation routines with ParPar's processing backend, improving par2cmdline’s performance on x86/ARM platforms. This package will conflict with par2cmdline.
pigz			2.8	pigz (Parallel Implementation of GZip) pigz, which stands for Parallel Implementation of GZip, is a fully functional replacement for gzip that utilizes multiple processors and CPU cores when compressing data. pigz was written by Mark Adler, and uses zlib and pthread libraries.
plocate			1.1.23	plocate (a much faster locate) plocate is a locate based on posting lists. Compared to mlocate, it is much faster, and its index is much smaller. updatedb speed is similar (or you can convert mlocate's index to plocate format using plocate-build). It supports most mlocate options; see --help or the man page for more information.
powershell			7.4.6	PowerShell is a task-based command-line shell and scripting language built on .NET. PowerShell helps system administrators and power-users rapidly automate tasks that manage operating systems (Linux, macOS, and Windows) and processes. After installing, you can start using PowerShell by typing "pwsh" in the Terminal.
powertop			2.15	powertop (tool for analyzing system power usage) PowerTOP is a utility that collects data from your system and presents an overview to help optimize power savings. PowerTOP will identify which tunables and software components are the biggest offenders in slurping up your battery time. PowerTOP updates its display frequently so that you can directly see the impact of any changes you are making.
python2			2.7.18	python2 (object-oriented interpreted programming language, v2) Python is an interpreted, interactive, object-oriented programming language that combines remarkable power with very clear syntax. Python's basic power can be extended with your own modules written in C or C++. Python is also adaptable as an extension language for existing applications.
python3			3.12.8	python3 (object-oriented interpreted programming language, v3) Python is an interpreted, interactive, object-oriented programming language that combines remarkable power with very clear syntax. This is a new version of the language that is incompatible with the 2.x line of releases. The language is mostly the same, but many details, especially how built-in objects like dictionaries and strings work, have changed considerably, and a lot of deprecated features have finally been removed. Also, the standard library has been reorganized in a few prominent places.

rar2fs			1.29.6	rar2fs is a FUSE based file system that can mount a source RAR archive/volume or a directory containing any number of RAR archives and read the contents as regular files on-the-fly. Non-archived files located in the source directory are handled transparently.
rar			5.5.0	Rar is a powerful tool for processing RAR archives.
rclone			1.68.2	Rclone is a command-line program to manage files on cloud storage. It is a feature-rich alternative to cloud vendors' web storage interfaces. Over 40 cloud storage products support rclone including S3 object stores, business & consumer file storage services, as well as standard transfer protocols. Rclone has powerful cloud equivalents to the unix commands rsync, cp, mv, mount, ls, ncdu, tree, rm, and cat. Rclone's familiar syntax includes shell pipeline support, and --dry-run protection. It is used at the command line, in scripts or via its API.
restic			0.17.3	restic (Modern backup program to backup your files) restic is a backup program that is fast, efficient and secure. It supports the three major operating systems (Linux, macOS, Windows) and a few smaller ones (FreeBSD, OpenBSD).
rsnapshot			1.4.2	rsnapshot is a filesystem snapshot utility for making backups of local and remote systems. Using rsync and hard links, it is possible to keep multiple, full backups instantly available. The disk space required is just a little more than the space of one full backup, plus incrementals.
screen			5.0.0	screen (screen manager with VT100/ANSI terminal emulation) Screen is a full-screen window manager that multiplexes a physical terminal between several processes (typically interactive shells). Each virtual terminal provides the functions of a DEC VT100 terminal and several control functions from the ISO 6492 (ECMA 48, ANSI X3.64) and ISO 2022 standards (e.g. insert/delete line and support for multiple character sets). There is a scrollback history buffer for each virtual terminal and a copy-and-paste mechanism that allows moving text regions between windows.
sshpass			1.06	Sshpass is a tool for non-interactivly performing password authentication with SSH's so called "interactive keyboard password authentication". Most users should use SSH's more secure public key authentication instead.

tmux			3.5a	tmux (terminal multiplexer) tmux is a terminal multiplexer. It enables a number of terminals (or windows) to be accessed and controlled from a single terminal. tmux is intended to be a simple, modern, BSD-licensed alternative to programs such as GNU screen.
UASM			2.57	UASM (A free MASM-compatible assembler based on JWasm)
unrar			6.2.12	The UnRAR utility is a freeware program, distributed with source code and developed for extracting, testing and viewing the contents of archives created with the RAR archiver version 1.50 and above. The UnRAR library is a minor part of the RAR archiver and contains the RAR uncompression algorithm. UnRAR requires very small volume of memory to operate. The UnRAR library can also be used by other programs to extract RAR archives.
vim			9.1.1006	vim (Vi IMproved) Vim is an almost compatible version of the UNIX editor vi. Many new multi level undo, command line history, filename completion, block operations, and more. Bram Moolenaar began working on Vim for the Amiga computer in 1988. This package also contains the Exuberant Ctags program written by Darren Hiebert.
wget2			2.2.0	wget2 (a non-interactive network retriever v2) GNU Wget2 is the successor of GNU Wget, a file and recursive website downloader. Designed and written from scratch it wraps around libwget, that provides the basic functions needed by a web client. In many cases Wget2 downloads much faster than Wget1.x due to HTTP2, HTTP compression, parallel connections and use of If-Modified-Since HTTP header. Design and implementation by Tim Rühsen, with lead maintainers Tim Rühsen, Darshit Shah, and Giuseppe Scrivano.
zsh			5.9	zsh (the Z shell) Zsh is a UNIX command interpreter (shell) which of the standard shells most resembles the Korn shell (ksh), although it is not completely compatible. It includes enhancements of many types, notably in the command-line editor, options for customizing its behavior, filename globbing, features to make C-shell (csh) users feel more at home and extra features drawn from tcsh (another 'custom' shell). Zsh was written by Paul Falstad.
