Machine Upgrades

MrDee01 edited this page Jun 15, 2017 · 26 revisions

Machine Upgrades are upgrades that can be inserted directly into Machines.

Percentage effects stack multiplicatively. For example, two Overclocker upgrades make machine run 169% faster (1.3*1.3), at the cost of 256% power (1.6*1.6). Non-percentage effects stack additively. Non-numeric effects stack independently.

Overclocker Upgrade

The Overclocker Upgrade increases the speed and energy consumption of a machine. Note: Excessive overclocking can result in a machine's energy consumption being greater than its energy storage, in which case some form of Energy Storage Upgrade will be required to allow the machine to run at all. Additionally, machines cannot operate faster than one operation per tick. Any additional Overclockers after this point will still increase energy cost, but will not increase speed.

  • Maximum stack size: 64
  • Power consumption: +60% EU
  • Processing speed: +30%

Transformer Upgrade

The Transformer Upgrade increases the energy tier of a machine, allowing it to accept a higher voltage without explosion.

  • Maximum stack size: 64
  • Machine tier: +1 (Max 13)

Energy Storage Upgrade

The Energy Storage Upgrade increases the internal energy storage of a machine.

  • Maximum stack size: 64
  • Power storage: +10000 EU

Redstone Sensitivity Upgrade

The Redstone Sensitivity Upgrade allows you to change redstone effect on a machine.
A machine that required redstone signal will no longer need it.

  • Maximum stack size: 64
  • Inverts: Redstone sensitivity

Redstone Inverter Upgrade

The Redstone Inverter Upgrade inverts the redstone signal requirement on a machine for a machine to operate. Machines that require a signal will not; machines that do not require a signal will need one.

  • Maximum stack size: 64
  • Inverts: Redstone requirement

Basic Import Upgrade

The Basic Import Upgrade allows you to Import from another Inventory into a Machine.
Right Click on a Block's Side and it will copy the direction the Side is facing. Shift Right Click for the opposite side.
Right Clicking with the Side Inventory Key Pressed will set you as the owner of the Upgrade allowing you to take Items from Personal Safes. A Basic Import Upgrade imports every Time a machine is finishing an Operation or when the machine is idle for 20 Ticks.

  • Maximum stack size: 64
  • Maximum effective Stack Size in Machine: 9
  • Item transfer rate: 1 Item

Import Upgrade

The Import Upgrade is a more advanced version of the Basic Import Upgrade. It automatically takes in full stacks of items from the selected machine side, however it consumes EU to operate. EU is consumed from the inserted machine's buffer.
Unlike the basic import upgrade, it will only import instantly if there is more than 3 Items consumed in the recipe. If that parameter is not given it will wait 20 Ticks (worldTime) until it tries to import.

  • Maximum stack size: 64
  • Maximum effective Stack Size in Machine: 9
  • Item transfer rate: Up to 64 Items
  • Energy Usage: 1 EU for 3 Items (Minimum 1 EU)

Basic Export Upgrade

The Basic Export Upgrade allows you to Export from a Machine to another Inventory.
Right Click on a Block's Side and it will copy the direction the Side is facing. Shift Right Click for the opposite side.
Right Clicking with the Side Inventory Key Pressed will set you as the owner of the Upgrade allowing you to send Items into Personal Safes. A Basic Export Upgrade Exports every time a Machine is finishing an Operation or when a Machine is idle for 20 ticks.

  • Maximum stack size: 64
  • Maximum effective Stack Size in Machine: 9
  • Item transfer rate: 1 Item

Export Upgrade

The Export Upgrade is a more Advanced Version of a Basic Export Upgrade. It attempts to export up to full stacks of produced items, however it consumes EU to operate. EU is consumed from the inserted machine's buffer.
Unlike the basic export upgrade, it will only export instantly if there is more then 2 Items in the output or if the stacksize of 1 Item is bigger than 3. If these parameters are not given it will wait 20 Ticks (worldTime) until it tries to export.

  • Maximum stack size: 64
  • Maximum effective Stack Size in Machine: 9
  • Item transfer rate: Up to 64 Items
  • Energy Usage: 1 EU for 3 Items (Minimum 1 EU)

Muffler Upgrade

The Muffler Upgrade simply reduces the loudness of your Machine.
This allows you to almost mute a Machine that is annoying you.

  • Maximum stack size: 64
  • Machine volume: -20%

Mute Upgrade

The Mute Upgrade is an upgraded version of a Sound Muffler Upgrade. It disables all noise of a Machine including noises from other upgrades.

  • Maximum stack size: 1
  • Machine volume: -100%

Experience Collector Upgrade

The Experience Collector Upgrade collects experience as if a player extracted items from the machine. This Upgrade loses a fraction of the experience and only works for machines that can provide experience.

  • Maximum stack size: 1
  • Experience storage: 5000 (~21 Levels)
  • Experience loss: 50%
  • Power consumption: +5 EU

Efficiency Upgrade

The Efficiency Upgrade reduces the power consumption of machines. Unlike other Upgrades, a single Efficiency Upgrade has a minimal effect, so they must be stacked to have a meaningful effect.

  • Maximum stack size: 16
  • Power consumption: -5% EU
  • Maximum reduction: -56%

Energy Multiplier Upgrade

The Energy Multiplier Upgrade is a very advanced version of the Energy Storage Upgrade that can drastically increase the internal energy buffer of a machine. It multiplies the base energy storage of a machine, and stacks independently from Energy Storage Upgrades.

  • Maximum stack size: 3
  • Power storage: +100%

Loudness Upgrade

The Loudness Upgrade is an inverted version of the Muffler Upgrade. It makes machines louder.

  • Maximum stack size: 64
  • Machine volume: +35%

Round Robin Export Upgrade

The Round Robin Export Upgrade is an advanced version of the Export upgrade.
The difference is that that you can set multiple directions in different slots and it will cycle through them.
Until it has sent a List of Items to 1 side it will not switch to the next direction.
Exported slots will be defined by the machine itself. It can be either the current processing results or just whole inventory. The amount that gets sent does not matter in that case. Just that it did send something.
Using the Mode Switch Key while Right Clicking the Upgrade allows you to switch between the slots. Sneaking while doing that will clear that slot.

  • Maximum stack size: 64
  • Item transfer rate: up to 64 items
  • Energy usage: 1 EU for 3 items (Minimum 1 EU)
  • Direction slots: 4

Slowness Upgrade

The Slowness Upgrade is the extreme opposite of the Overclocker Upgrade. The Slowness Upgrade significantly reduces the speed and energy cost of a machine. While these will stack with Overclocker Upgrades, their relative reduction in speed is greater than their relative reduction in energy cost; combining them is inefficient.

  • Maximum stack size: 5
  • Power consumption: -40% EU
  • Processing speed: -50%

Filtered Basic Import Upgrade

The Filtered Basic Import Upgrade is an upgraded version of the Basic Import Upgrade.
The addition it gets is an Inventory, which allows you to decide which items are allowed and which are not.
On top of that there is an Invert Button, which allows you to make it a blacklist.

  • Maximum stack size: 64 (but effects to not stack)
  • Item transfer rate: 1 Item
  • Filtered Slots: 9

Reactor Tracking Upgrade

The Reactor Track Upgrade is a basic Upgrade which allows you to track components with their durability. This Upgrade is very basic and only allows you to replace components that are almost broken or have disappeared. To Track a reactor you set what you want to track, if it should be exporting Items that it tracks or if it should import items.
Once that is done click on the Nuclear Reactor and then it will remember what to track on the reactor.
Define a side and put it into a Machine/MachineBuffer that is connected to the Reactor (Chambers are fine too).
It will automatically try to add/remove components and check it frequently.
This is the only way to detect if items need to replaced and where to place them.
(Speiger's Note: It's not the best upgrade and you can't do Complex reactors with it. I am aware of that. Sadly it's the only way to track the durability of Components)

  • Maximum stack size: 1
  • Check Delay: 10 Ticks

Cobblegen Upgrade

The Cobblegen Upgrade is an Upgrade that automatically Inserts 1 Piece of Cobblestone into the input slot of a machine.
This happens every second. The more the Upgrade stacks the more Cobblestone you get per second.

  • Maximum stack size: 64
